• Multi-select control was acting as a single-select control when embedded inside of a table. This has been resolved.
• Number fields with no decimal attribute are now treated like integers. Previously, you would have to define this by entering a zero (0) into the decimal attribute field in the form template Designer.

Added a geolocation control to the platform. Now you can add a geolocation control to your form templates, so that a user can tap on a button to capture and display the geolocation in either decimal degrees (DD), degrees/minutes/seconds (DMS) or universal transverse mercator (UTM) format. This control works on both forms as well as inside tables.

Added geolocation support at the photo level (instead of at the form level). So now when you take a photo within XForms, the device’s geolocation is captured each time you take a photo. This now also works with the progressive web app (PWA) version of the mobile app.

Changed some verbiage in the app. Now the sort function labels on the forms/home screen have changed to “Sort by oldest first” and “Sort by newest first”.

Added an “All Forms” item in the form type selector of the forms/home screen.

Enhanced the Lookup control by replacing the type-ahead search mechanism with a button. Now you can type into a lookup field to enter static text, and if you tap on the lookup button, it will use the text in the field to filter from the lookup table.

Bug fixes:

• When a text or paragraph field was tapped in a row of a table grid, the view would zoom-in automatically, and would not zoom out unless the user tapped the screen with 2 fingers. This behavior was observed in iOS devices only. This issue has been resolved.
• Text and paragraph rows in tables were not displaying all the way across on a screen. This issue has been resolved.

Minor Improvement:

• Now if you have a minimum number of required photos in a photo control, this will appear in red on the mobile app screen in runtime (as an indicator to the field tech filling out the form that a photo is required before they can submit the form).

Enhanced the mobile app’s Progressive Web Application (PWA) technology under the hood. Now you can install XForms Mobile application as a PWA downloadable app on Chrome and Edge. To install, launch MS Edge or Chrome browser (Mac or PC) and go to app.xformsweb.com. In the browser’s address bar, on the right side, click on the download/install icon. Then click on Install and when the app starts, click on Allow.

Photos: Enabled saving camera images to the local phone gallery. So now when you take a picture, it adds it to your phone’s image gallery first, and then loads it into XForms with smaller resolution.

Offline Mode: An offline on/off switch has been added to the menu bar. So now you don’t have to flip your phone to airplane mode, you can just flip the app to offline mode.

Added ability to hide the “pick from gallery” icon in the camera control. So now you can hide the gallery button if you don’t want your field techs to be able to select a picture from their device’s image gallery (i.e., this forces the user to take a picture using the camera control within XForms).

Added ability to enforce locking of submitted forms at the form template level. Now you can designate a form template to be uneditable (ie, locked) right from within the form template designer. Added a new picture control that allows you to add a picture that would load from a lookup field link, an uploaded image, or that loads from a URL. Use case: if you need to display an image in a form when it first loads in the mobile app. This feature was added in support of the New Mexico Livestock Board, who requires the ability to pre-load a brand image from a lookup field — for example, a user selects a brand from a lookup field, and the brand and earmark images for that cattle brand display below.

• Made some foundational change in how to handle new vs existing PDF templates, which was based on user behavior of previous version. Now when you make a change to an input form template and save those changes, a prompt appears asking if you want to update the corresponding PDF template (no longer need to do this manually).

Added ability to sync draft forms (forms that have been saved/submitted as drafts, or partially completed). So now your field crews can work in offline mode on forms that were saved as draft forms by other field crews. This is an optional setting on the “Sync Offline Data” screen.

Notes:

• Only draft forms for the device type selected for sync will be downloaded to the device
• If you have a lot of draft forms, it will take longer for the sync session to complete
