CX2 · Coming Spring 2027

Commissioning completions, rebuilt from the field up.

CX2 is the next generation of XForms Cx: one platform that bends to the project instead of the other way around. Completion by system, area or equipment. Loop checks, paper intake and approvals when a job calls for them. A punchlist report your managers will actually read. And a hand-off to Bluebeam or XDocs the moment a system hits 100%.

Already on XForms Cx? Nothing changes for you today — see "Existing customers" below.

CX2 dashboard showing completion by system, area and equipment, open punchlist items and pending approvals

Every commissioning project is different: a data center, a refinery turnaround, a pharma fit-out, a 40-device tenant build. CX2 is one platform built to take all of them.

ON

One platform, every kind of project.

Optional modules per project, configurable labels, and the same core underneath. No second tool for the odd job.

One pattern, every screen.

Totals on top that filter when you click them, sortable columns, search. Learn it once.

Completion the way your project is organized.

By system, by area, by equipment — drill from any of them to a single form.

Built for 10,000+ device projects, and 40-device ones.

CSV-first setup, bulk assignment, import previews that catch mistakes first. The same offline mobile app your crews already use.

01

Completion

See completion the way your project is organized.

Managers think in systems. Site leads think in places. Mechanical teams think in units. CX2 rolls completion up all three ways from the same device and form data, and every view drills down the same way: click a device to open its details, expand it to see every form and its status.

  • By system
  • By area
  • By equipment
  • By device

Systems tree with % complete

Systems, subsystems, devices, forms — one tree. Download a system's completed forms as a package.

Area completion by building, floor and room

Buildings, floors and rooms, with the same % complete and the same drill-down.

Equipment units with their own completion

Track a unit — motor, fan, condenser, valves — as a whole. Call them skids, units or packages; the label is yours.

Device grid with status, system, area and type

Every device and every form in one grid. Scan a nameplate with the phone camera and let the AI fill in manufacturer, model and serial.

Systems tree expanded to a device and its forms, with the device details sidebar open

The same drill-down from every view: device details in a sidebar, forms and their status underneath.

02

Add what the project needs

ON

One platform. Every project gets its own version of it.

Not every job needs loop checks, and most sites allow phones. CX2 keeps the optional parts behind per-project switches, so a small project stays simple and a refinery turnaround gets everything it needs — on the same platform, with the same data, the same mobile app and the same reports. Flip a switch in project settings and the screens appear.

ON

Loop checks grid grouped by loop
Loop drawer with results and signature panels

Loop checks

If you need loop checks, add them. A grid grouped by subsystem, a drawer for results and signatures, and loop sheets you can print and reconcile later.

ON

Paper intake review queue with a scanned sheet and extracted fields

Paper intake

No phones allowed on site? Turn on paper. CX2 prints each form with a QR code, matches the scan back to its device and reads the handwritten fields; anything uncertain is flagged for a person.

ON

Approvals queue

Approvals

Need sign-off, but only on some things? Mark a form template as requiring approval and those forms route to a manager before they count. Everything else flows straight through.

ON

Documents list with revisions and links
Document preview panel

Documents

Keep drawings, specs and O&Ms next to the equipment they describe. Link a document to systems, areas or devices, preview it in place, keep superseded revisions on record.

Areas and equipment are switches too, and so are the words on screen: "punchlist" or "discrepancies", "equipment" or "skids" — whatever your organization says.

03

Punchlist & reporting

The status report your customer already asked for.

Open versus closed, grouped by priority from P1 Critical to P4 Low, with % complete at the system level and the area level. Drill from any cell to the items behind it. Call it a punchlist, discrepancies or issues — the word is configurable.

Forms list with status, device and author

Forms

Every form submitted on the project, with who completed it and when. Open the PDF, see what's awaiting approval, spot what's still missing.

Reports screen with scheduled reports and turnover packages

Reports

Build the completed-forms package for a system, export devices or punchlist, and schedule the reports people expect each week.

CX2 dashboard with completion, open punchlist and a needs-attention list

Dashboard

Where it all rolls up: completion, open punchlist, pending approvals, and a "needs attention" list — every number a filter.

04

Setup

Set up a 10,000-device project without losing a week.

Project setup is where most commissioning tools lose people. CX2 keeps configuration separate from the completion screens, and every configuration screen is CSV-first: import, preview exactly what will change, then commit.

Device types with form templates, weights and approval settings

Device types

Device types carry the form templates. Assign templates per type, set each one's weight toward completion and whether it needs approval. Add a device and its forms follow.

Manage systems screen

Systems

Build the system and subsystem hierarchy by import or by hand; reorder by drag and drop.

Manage areas screen with a building, floor and room tree

Areas

Buildings, floors and rooms, as deep as the project needs.

Manage equipment screen

Equipment

Create units and attach their component devices.

Manage loop checks screen

Loop checks

Define each loop, the checks it must pass and its subsystem.

05

Hand-off

From completed system to delivered document.

When a system reaches 100%, CX2 unlocks the hand-off. Send the package to Bluebeam Studio for markup and client sign-off, or publish it into the formal technical report in XDocs. Everything else goes through the REST API.

Bluebeam Studio

Send a 100%-complete system's package for markup and client sign-off.

XDocs

Publish the package into the formal technical report. XDocs is also coming in 2027.

REST API

What commissioning teams say

“Finding a company that could tailor their product to fit our needs was difficult. XForms is professional, easy to work with, and customizable. An easy fit for anyone looking for an online solution for cloud-based data recording.”

Aaron C
Project Manager — Startup and Commissioning

“I sincerely appreciate all the help you have given us. We’re pretty psyched about this program. It’s saving us a ton of cash and will make my job tracking this stuff unmeasurably easier.”
